When celebrating the Christmas holiday, it always brings back meaningful memories of your welcoming arms when we came to visit.? Your eyes and smiles would have lit up a Christmas Tree! We will never be able to top the great meals prepared by you.?? The love you gave us is such a blessing in itself!? ?So, today as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, we will be celebrating having had you as our parents!

We are having meltdowns today missing you.? We are trying to stay focused on all the greatness we shared with you and the love you gave us.? It is still hard for us to comprehend that you left us five years ago today to be with our Dad and our God in Heaven!
There have been a few changes in our lives this year.? Sophia & Jim now own your home.? We all know that you are smiling down on them and sending them love and your blessings.? We truly know that this makes you happy.? Willard & Bertha have retired, left Texas, and now are living in Kentucky. ?All your children, their spouses, and your grandchildren are doing well.? You would be proud to know that Tommy has married and now has two beautiful children.?? He even named his son after Dad.? We officially have another Henry Short.? They even nicknamed him Hank. ? Oh by the way, Tommy is such a handsome man who looks just like his Dad, Marvin, your first son and our oldest brother!
We could go on and on, but we will have another conversation with you later.? One last thing we want you and Dad to know is that you might be gone from this earth, but you will never ever be forgotten as long as one of us has a breath left.? We love you and miss you more today than our hearts can express.
We think of you every day, but today brings back memories of losing our Dad.? ???People often say that time will heal your heart.? That is so not true!? These feelings are as fresh today as they were the day they occurred.?? The sorrow that we are experiencing is just as painful as it was then.?? It is still hard to believe that 22 years have passed since our Dad left our presence to be with God. One great thing that makes us feel better is knowing the two of you are together.? Often times, we feel your presence and have a sense of comfort knowing that both of you are watching over us!
