My Loving Mother …

Mom:

The family will never be the same now that you are gone but I am trying my best to focus on the positive facts of life.? Thanks to God we had you for nearly 90 wonderful years and the memories are endless.? My favorite memories are when we lived on Big Branch out in the middle of no-where.? What a wonderful place to grow up and if knew then what I know now I would have probably enjoyed it even more.

You were 26 in August of 1948 and I was born in December, the fifth child.? I remember you telling me it was a cold morning when I was born.? You also told me that I was a happy baby and you used to feed me crackers and milk to supplement the breast feeding.? To this day I still love crackers and milk.

I fondly remember all the food we grew and canned, green beans, tomatoes, sugar beets, cabbage, cucumbers and the list goes on.? We picked every berry known to man, strawberries, blackberries, rasberries (Dad’s favorite), huckleberries, blueberries and you canned or made juice from everyone we picked.? Did we ever do some fancy eating?

I could go on and on but I just wanted to tell you what a wonderful Mother you were.? We could have ordered a special Mother and not done as well as having you.? I also wanted to tell you that we miss and love you dearly.? I miss your hugs the most as they were some kind of special hugs.? We will try to live our lives fully here on earth and look forward to joining you in Heaven.

Your Loving Son,

Willard Short
